Literacy Project serves community

Generously funded by donations from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation and the Robert S & Eloise C Bowers Foundation, the OC Literacy program is helping to bridge the language and culture barrier that often exists between native and non-native English speakers and is promoting a strong, unified community in the process.

The Literacy Project gives students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to volunteer, both on-campus and in the surrounding area, to help teach English to non-native speakers.

The Literacy Program offers a fresh approach to learning English through on-campus “Literacy Lunches” and neighborhood ESL sessions. Students enrolled in Oklahoma Christian’s ESL program get the chance for hands-on training, as well as an opportunity to reach out and interact with the community.
