The July 6, 2007 issue of the Cleburne Times Review newspaper featured an
article about OC alumna, Monica Green (07), who was recently named the features editor for the paper:
A new features editor has joined the Times-Review staff, replacing Michael Mager, who left last month.
Monica Green, 22, moved to Burleson in June with her family after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in journalism from Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond.
While in college, she worked for the school’s newspaper, The Talon. She served as photo editor for two years, the features editor for one year and the news editor for one semester.
“We are really glad to have someone with so much photography and pagination experience,” Managing Editor Dale Gosser said. “I think she will be a great asset.”
The recipient of the college’s first writing scholarship, Green worked for the campus’ writing center and served as its student director her senior year. The writing center edited student papers and worked with high school students to improve their writing skills, she said.
She also wrote newsletters for college organizations and served as the public relations director for Freshman Fanfare, a production put on by freshman students.
