OC tweaks class reunion format
Friday, July 13, 2007
Were you in a hurry to start your career after college and graduated a semester early? Or did you change your major three times and end up staying at OC for six years?
You're not alone. Not everyone graduated in exactly four years. In an effort to allow alumni to reunite with their original freshmen classes, Homecoming reunions will now be reorganized.
Starting this November, if you entered OC in the fall of 1957, 1967, 1977, 1987, or 1997, then this is the year for your class reunion during Homecoming. Alumni who attended Central Christian College and/or graduated in 1957 will still have their 50 year reunion lunch the Friday of Homecoming.
Class reunions are typically on-campus breakfast gatherings the Saturday morning of Homecoming. Because of all of the other activities going on Homecoming weekend the Office for Alumni Relations relies on volunteers to plan and host their individual class reunions.
To make class reunions happen, the Office for Alumni Relations needs volunteers willing to help in three specific areas:
If you came to OC in the fall of 1957, 1967, 1977, 1987, or 1997 and want to help in any of the three areas above, click here to fill out a Class Reunion Volunteer form.
- Alumni with the gift of gab are needed to help spread the word about reunion breakfasts to their classmates via phone calls and emails during the months, weeks, and days leading up to Homecoming.
- Alumni with a knack for hosting parties and making people feel welcome are needed to plan what, if any, organized activities take place during their reunion breakfasts.
- Alumni who can use the following words in a sentence: shutter speed, aperture, exposure, and ISO are needed to take pictures at their reunion breakfasts.
Remember, without alumni volunteers, class reunions don't happen. If you have any questions, please contact Michael Mitchell at 405.425.5110 or via email to email@example.com.
