Here is a great, creative way two members of the OC community are hoping to raise scholarships for students wanting to study abroad.

From the International Biggest Loser Facebook page:

Two overweight guys, Lj Littlejohn & Jared Scism, Director of the Language and Cultural Institute and student on the Japanese long-term exchange program (respectively), wish to face off in the ultimate weight loss challenge!

Come and follow our progress and pledge $1, $5, $10, $25, $50 or $100 per pound lost. A dollar pledge per pound with a weight loss of 10 pounds would be would a total of $10. All proceeds will benefit a new scholarship for students at Oklahoma Christian University who wish to study abroad, but may have a financial hurdle preventing them of going on a opportunity of a lifetime!

For those interested in making a pledge or contribution, please email lj.littlejohn@oc.edu. Please indicate in your email which contestant you would like to support and if it is a per pound pledge or one time pledge.

The contestant with the most raised money will have the scholarship named in his honor.

The contestant with the largest percentage of body weight lost will be given the title, “International Biggest Loser”.

A final “weigh-in” will take place at the Office of International Programs on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University on December 17th, 2009.

Let's support these two as they seek to not only improve their own lives, but also bless others with the opportunity to study abroad!
