Christian University Office of Alumni Relations is seeking a creative,
resourceful, and highly motivated individual to serve as the Coordinator of
Alumni Relations. Reporting to the Director for Alumni Relations, the incumbent
selected for this position will provide critical general support to the alumni relations
effort by effectively completing the following tasks:
Alumni Record Keeping
The
Coordinator is chiefly responsible for the upkeep of data on individual alumni.
This responsibility includes, but is not limited to: the tracking, monitoring
and changing of alumni address, employer, phone, email and other alumni information
when changes are secured from any source.
Alumni Budget Tracking
and Monitoring The
Coordinator is responsible for the timely filing of expense reports,
reconciliation of Visa statements, purchase orders, and travel reimbursements
in order to determine where strategic resources are being spent.
Alumni Website Content
Management Process The
Coordinator is responsible for organizing and monitoring the regular updating
of the Eagle Connect website. This includes posting alumni Milestones, some
writing responsibilities, some editing responsibilities, and managing the
process of generating relevant, timely content for the OC AlumNews blog.
Alumni Mailings The
Coordinator is responsible for the organization and execution of all alumni
mailings. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to: occasional
writing, editing, mail merging, sorting, addressing, and envelope stuffing.
Alumni Events The
Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of all
alumni events. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for the tracking of
all registration, payment and attendance for all alumni events.
The position
is not limited to these tasks but they represent a fair summary of the major
daily activities. It is also important to understand that this position will
have increased responsibilities and hours during major alumni events such as
Homecoming, Family Fun Nights, the Mike McDonald Fun Run, and other events,
including Advancement and other University events, as necessary. From time to
time, overnight travel to and from regional alumni events along with working
evenings and weekends will also be necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Coordinator
should have an undergraduate degree from Oklahoma Christian University or four
years of progressively responsible work experience. Experience in alumni
relations, higher education, event management, volunteer coordination, student
affairs, public relations and/or marketing are desirable but not absolutely
critical.
The Coordinator
should be assertive, persistent, and outgoing. A high energy level, sense of
humor, commitment to excellence, attention to detail, ability to follow
through, and a willingness to try new things are critical to success in this
position. A creative approach to problem solving is also a plus.
The
Coordinator should be a proven self starter with the ability to make progress
on and simultaneously manage multiple priorities, projects, and tasks. Strong presentation,
writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are a plus. The Coordinator
should be comfortable working independently and in a team environment, and
should also have the ability to work effectively with and recruit volunteers. The
Coordinator should also possess a basic working knowledge of desktop publishing
and web design software (such as Microsoft FrontPage, Publisher, PowerPoint
and/or other comparable software).
This is a
full-time salaried position with benefits. Oklahoma Christian University
provides a retirement matching plan, group health insurance and other optional

university provides attractive tuition discounting for full-time staff members
and their family. After one year of employment with the University, the
Coordinator will accrue two weeks of paid vacation and an additional week of
paid leave to participate in mission or church related service efforts.
