Major? English Literature

What are you most known for? Professionally - Oklahoma's community association guru. Personally - Jenn's husband and dad to four girls.

What is your true calling? To help people return work, play, family, education, spirituality, and center to the home.

How'd you find this calling? Providence (and Wendell Berry)

What is your biggest personal or professional achievement so far? Too tough to call.

What is your proudest moment? Five of them: 1. falling in love with my wife, and 2-5 the natural births of our daughters.

What is the biggest professional or personal hurdle that you've overcome? Still working on it - killing my ego and accepting people where they are not where I think they should be.

What is something people should know about you that is not on your resumé? Resumé? Who needs a resumé?

Life's motto? Do what you love (provided it is good). Know your own bone; gnaw at it, bury it, unearth it, and gnaw it still - H.D. Thoreau (with my parenthetical)

Your inspiration? My wife; small family farmers/ranchers

Teamwork or fly solo? Both, or one or the other, depending on the circumstance.

How do you plan to self improve? Read, work, eat, drink, live, love, learn, rest (not necessarily in that order)

What advice do you have for future generations? 1. Get out and meet your neighbors; they're not as bad as you suspect. 2. Forgive your family and expect them to forgive you. 3. Understand/be aware of how you move through life (it affects the people around you and the earth beneath you) 4. Grow your own food as much as possible

Describe yourself in 3 words? learning, living, saved

Causes you support? Preserving and building community; Keeping the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (Eph.4:3); Slow food; Classical Christian education model; City of Edmond's public art; Local markets

Stress relievers? Stress? Who needs stress?

What's next for you? It's 2:15 p.m., so it's about siesta time.

What are you working toward? Preparing to live with four teenagers - book to be released in about 15 years.

How will you make your mark? Either with a pen or a boot heel.
