Oklahoma Christian University is proud to feature one of our own staff, Matt Johns, in the Alumni Spotlights section of AlumNews. Matt graduated OC in 2006 and is currently working on a Master's degree in Education at the University of Oklahoma. Matt is also an Admissions Counselor at OC.

What are you most known for?
Student Government Vice President 2005-2006

What is your true calling?
I love serving people and making people happy. My calling is to work in Higher Education at OC!

How'd you find this calling?
I finally had to sit down and just listen to God for direction in my life.

What is your biggest personal or professional achievement so far?
Running a half-marathon in 2 hours and 7 minutes! Also, being top 3 in an American Idol contest in Tulsa, OK.

What is your proudest moment?
Singing at the Rodeo Opry and Oklahoma Opry. I love to sing!

What is the biggest professional or personal hurdle that you've overcome?
Confidence. I usually have none....something I need to work on!

What is something people should know about you that is not on your resume?
I love discovering more about God every day. I talk out loud a lot to God.

How do you plan to self improve?
Admit that I am wrong when I am, and apologize always.

Live in the moment...your future comes too fast.
