The Oklahoma Christian University Advancement Office is
seeking a resourceful, detailed, organized, and highly energetic individual to
serve as an Administrative Assistant for Major Giving. Reporting to the Major
Gifts Officers for the Colleges of Arts & Science, Biblical Studies, and
Professional Studies, the incumbent selected for this position will provide
critical general support to the fundraising effort at Oklahoma Christian.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The individual hired for this position will provide
administrative support to three Major Gifts Officers and may provide work
direction for up to two student workers. The incumbent will provide marketing
support; arrange travel; process and track expenses and provide monthly budget
reconciliation; assist in the preparation, research and gathering of materials
and information for meetings and events; and draft, edit, and proofread
correspondence, briefings and reports for major gifts officers; provide
calendar support; and handle large volumes of outgoing mail discriminately.
Additionally, the incumbent will provide event management
support for events that include small private lunches and dinners for high
level donors as well as larger scale receptions and dinners. Incumbent will
interact with all levels of the organization, including campus executive
administration, other advancement staff, and offices throughout campus. The
incumbent will have the freedom to independently solve problems and is expected
to perform duties with the highest level of courtesy, The incumbent will also
be called upon from time to time to manage special projects of a highly
confidential and sensitive nature.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• College degree or at least three years of demonstrated experience and proven ability to function
at a high level of administrative support. • Proficiency in adapting computer software programs to
meet needs of the office. Proficient in the use of software applications necessary
in administrative work, including database to retrieve current and historical
information to compile reports and briefings, spreadsheets, and graphics
programs and the ability to implement new systems to increase productivity,
using e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and calendar applications. Working
knowledge of Excel and Access in creating extensive and complex budget and
financial reports. • Experience in producing financial and expense reports,
purchasing, accounting, travel vouchers, etc. • Demonstrated interpersonal and oral skills with the ability
to interact in a positive manner with diverse and demanding clientele,
including major gift prospects, donors, volunteers, prominent social, business,
and governmental figures, and campus administrators, using a high degree of
tact, diplomacy, and discretion, with emphasis of flexibility and
professionalism. • Demonstrated writing/composition/spelling/proofreading
skills; excellent understanding of the rules of English grammar and syntax, to
write clear, concise correspondence and briefings. • Proven excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated
ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work with frequent
interruptions under constantly changing priorities in a fast-paced operation
while exhibiting extreme attention to detail and high degree of accuracy at all
times. • Demonstrated ability to interact with courtesy and
professionalism with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds, both in
the community and within the University.
This is a full-time position with full salary and
