What advice would you give to current students?
Enjoy your memories; you’ll take them with you wherever you go. What was the most important thing you learned while attending Oklahoma Christian University?
Dealing effectively with people and learning to work well with different personality types. What is your passion in life?
Besides church, I’m really into writing right now. All the “homework” I used to hate as a student I now do as a hobby. I’ve written four books including two novels the past few years. What is your favorite memory from or favorite thing about OC?
Too many to pick a favorite, but I often think about the first time I met my best friends on the intramural field, what the girl wore on my first WPA date, five friends crammed into a small car to travel to Panhandle State to watch a basketball game and then having to take all night to get back because we didn’t get late permission. More than anything, I remember the feeling of being alone, away from home, but still among friends who were like family to me. What advice would you share with a soon to be graduate of OC about "the real world"?
Never stop learning. An education is just a starting point. You may not have as many formal exams in “the real world” but the lessons are sometimes more valuable. Also, take the time to keep in touch with the friends made in school; it will be worth the effort.
