Oklahoman Christian University Professor of Jazz and renowned saxophonist, Dr. Heath Jones recorded tracks for one of this year's most important releases: Mr. Walter Safety Songs. This release hails the return of "real music" to the genre of children's music, featuring some of the finest musicians in the country. There is no doubt that the strong safety theme makes this release very important to parents and grandparents throughout the country.

Of Heath's contribution to the project, Mr. Walter said, "Heath plays sax like nobody I know. He had laid down the main tracks that Jesse had arranged when he said to me, "Walter, this has all been good, but you haven't got a piece of my soul." We went back into the studio…and WOW! I wish we had captured the moment on video. There are sax solos on this Safety CD like you have never heard on a children's CD before. Heath's sax work took this project to a new level."

Dr. Heath Jones, Assistant Professor of Music, joined the Oklahoma Christian faculty in 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oklahoma Christian University, a Master of Music degree from Baylor University, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in music education from the University of Oklahoma.

Dr. Jones teaches single-reed woodwinds, music education, music technology, and jazz improvisation courses, and directs the Jazz Ensemble . He is an active professional performer in the Oklahoma City area, and serves as President of the Oklahoma chapter of the International Association for Jazz Education. Heath has performed on saxophone with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Lesley Gore, Frankie Avalon, Jim Neighbors, The Temptations, and various other road show acts.

Mr. Walter - songwriter, actor, entertainer, playwright and BMI recording artist – has served communities is a volunteer Fire Chaplain, as well as a traumatic incident specialist. He is also the recipient of the 2000 Firefighter of the Year Award for his service as Fire Chaplain. Walter is an alumnus of Oklahoma Christian as well.

Mr. Walter Safety Songs is set to be released in October, 2007 and will be available for purchase at Digstation.com, CD Baby, I Tunes Music Store and other retail internet and in-store markets.
